Ah, here we are... there, let's settle for a bit - this may be a longish stop. Put your feet up, it's OK, I don't mind at all. Did you bring your tea? Good. So lets get on then shall we?
I beg pardon? What's The Quest about? Oh, I do apologise - I didn't say, did I?
Well, The Quest is a book I've written. Would you like a synopsis? Very well then, but let me tell you right away that I'm not very good at summarizing things....
The tale has four main characters. Sisqo is a Wizard, and in the beginning he's not a terribly likeable character. Oh no, he's aloof and cold and quite disconcerting! He's looking for some 'volunteers' to join him on a journey (The Quest of the title) and his first victim - oh, I mean 'volunteer' - is a young female elf named Cyrena.
Cyrena has quite a back story, though I do hope that the majority of the salient points come through during the course of the tale. Suffice to say that she's quite feisty, and agrees to join this powerful Mage's treasure hunt. So she is sent off to a nearby town, little knowing that she is about to bump into the next participant of the quest, a dragon named Holborn.
Once they have made each other's acquaintance, they travel on to yet another town, where they are to find the last of the group, a human girl by the name of Ryanne. Now, Ryanne is probably my favourite character - she's excitable, flirty, determined and so full of joy......... Ahem, anyway - once all three of the 'volunteers' are assembled, the REAL quest begins.......
It's here that you might find my skills lacking., You see, I don't want to give too much away to those who haven't read the book, but I want to tell you enough to get you interested.
They travel onwards (with many a mishap and adventure on the way) to a small town, where they must complete a series of challenges to obtain the item that Sisqo lusts over. During these trials, a human is accidentally killed by Cyrena, and hundreds of years of elven/human hatred begins to bubble and boil, leading to a nigh on full scale war between elven and human kind that the elves have no chance of surviving. Calling on an ancient legend and pact between dragon and elven kind, the four members of the quest team start in motion a series of events that leads to the full scale evacuation of the elven nation......... and that's where The Quest ends, and Exodus begins.
