I guess as we are going to be travelling companions for a while I should really introduce myself properly. I'd shake your hand too, but unfortunately that's just not possible right now. Why? Oh, I'm busy writing!
My name is Rowan Dragonstorm. I'm a writer don't you know? I'm also a mother to three wonderful children, and I run my own small business. I live in Essex, on the South East coast of England. It's quite nice here, and when I'm not exploring the world inside my head I can be found wandering the beaches looking for interesting stones and other flotsam and jetsam. I don't like the Summer Season - it gets far too busy with holiday makers jostling each other to be first in the queue for ice cream and chips - I much prefer the Winter when it's as it should be - the sea whipping at the uprights on the pier, the wind whistling through the formal gardens at the top of the cliffs and if you're lucky enough, a dense sea fog to camouflage your every move.....
But enough of that. If I get lost in that mind picture I may be AWOL for some time!
I've been writing for many years - since childhood actually. I had quite a lonely one, even though I had two sisters living at home. As is normal with siblings, we had our falling outs and our arguments, and I'm sure it drove both our mother and our father to distraction that we couldn't get on! I wasn't particularly popular at school and suffered my fair share of bullying and beatings.... But it was during these times that I started out on my path of creative writing - if I couldn't have 'real' friends then I would make up my own!!
